Other Inspection Reports

The University of Washington is also regularly inspected by the Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW) and AAALAC International.

OLAW is the regulatory body that ensures compliance with the regulations and standards of the Public Health Services Policy. Inspections by OLAW are not conducted on a routine schedule, but typically occur every few years.

AAALAC International is a non-profit accreditation organization that promotes the humane treatment of animals in science. AAALAC conducts a voluntary, in-depth assessment of our animal care and use program once every three years, including review of records, the research facilities and the animals in them.

We are voluntarily posting to this open web site the OLAW and AAALAC inspection reports because we believe in openness and transparency about the important work that we do. Below are summaries, click the date to see the full report.
