Join faculty member, Hunter Schafer, for a demo lecture on what we should do when faced with uncertainty. Should we assume an optimistic or pessimistic outcome? This talk will discuss how being optimistic leads to a surprisingly powerful set of algorithms that can be applied in a wide suite of applications, like helping Netflix decide what to display to users and helping Google recommend the fastest route to your destination.
