Computer Accessories (Peripherals) Available for Checkout at the Information Desk

UW-IT and Odegaard Undergraduate Library provide a number of computer accessories (peripherals) for check-out at the 2nd floor Information Desk. This page provides a list of these items, with description.

Accessories, also known as peripherals, can be vital to your productivity, and we hope your bring your own, but we have a supply of uncommon and "emergency" accessories at the information desk. You can check out any of these from the Odegaard Information Desk on the second floor, for use only in the library. They are first-come, first-serve, and limited supply, so please understand when there is high demand, we may not have your requested peripheral available.

FINAL CUT KEYBOARD SKIN

SD CARD TO USB ADAPTER

Plugs into a USB port to allow for a standard sized SD Card to be read by the computer. Picture of SD Card Adapter

HEADPHONE ADAPTER (1/8” TO 1/4”)

Adapts a standard sized headphone jack to the size used in audio equipment, like guitar amps. Picture of Headphone Adapter

SLIDE SCANNER

Allows negatives from 35mm film to be scanned by a scanner to be edited on a computer. Picture of Slide Scanner

WOLVERINE 35MM FILM OR SLIDE SCANNER

These slide trays are for use in the Wolverine Slide Scanner next to the Quick Scan Stations in Odegaard. The Slide Scanner takes a 14MP digital picture of slides or 35MM negatives inserted into the Wolverine Slide Scanner. They can be directly stored onto an SD card or transferred via USB to a laptop.

MAC POWER ADAPTER (OLD TO NEW MAGSAFE)

MEDIA SCAPE MALE TO FEMALE VGA ADAPTER

APPLE 30-PIN TO VGA ADAPTER

Adapts the Apple 30-pin port found on iPhone 4S and below and iPad 3rd generation and below to VGA.  Also requires the use of separate VGA cable to complete setup. No audio is available through VGA, requires separate cable for audio.

APPLE LIGHTNING TO HDMI ADAPTER

Adapts the Apple Lightning port found on iPhone 5 and above and iPad 4th generation and above to HDMI. Also requires the use of separate HDMI cable to complete setup. APPLE 30-PIN TO HDMI ADAPTER

3.5MM (1/8") to 3.5MM (1/8") STEREO AUDIO CABLE

Used for plugging into 3.5mm (1/8") audio ports on a variety of devices, generally into the headphone jack. 3.5MM (1/8") STEREO AUDIO SPLITTER

ETHERNET CABLES

Used for plugging into a hardline Ethernet port for internet access. Picture of Ethernet Cable

DVI CABLE

DVI SPLITTER

HDMI CABLE

VGA CABLES

RCA CABLE

POWER STRIPS

Splits one power outlet into multiple power outlets for more than one device. Picture of Power Strip

APPLE USB SUPERDRIVE

A USB powered optical disk drive for reading and writing CDs or DVDs. It is only compatible with new MacBook Pros, MacBook Airs, or new iMacs without an optical drive.
