UW-IT provides many conferencing tools and services to hold online or dial-in meetings and teleconferences. UW Zoom and Microsoft Teams are HIPAA- and FERPA-compliant.

  • UW Zoom
    Host or join meetings and webinars with real-time voice, video, and screen share. Ideal for online meetings, classes, office hours, research, and telehealth sessions. Recording and other collaborative features are available.
  • Microsoft Teams
    Send messages, create posts, or share files with colleagues. Supports voice and video calling with screen sharing. More productivity features are available.

UW Zoom

Zoom makes it easy for UW faculty, staff, and students to:

  • Participate in group video chat during online class sessions
  • Host virtual office hours
  • Collaborate remotely on research
  • Share screens and host real-time video conversations
  • Host live web broadcasts to thousands of people worldwide
  • Record to the cloud or computer for easy sharing

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams puts the user in a chat-based work space for real-time collaboration and communication, meetings, file, and app sharing. Team members are either members or owners, and can easily be added and removed.

Additional Conferencing Services

Conference Phone Service provides telephone-based conference calls for up to 50 participants.

The Odegaard Video Studio is a room at UW Seattle with professional recording, conferencing, and media viewing equipment.
