Real Dawgs Give Back (SPEP)
Student Philanthropy Education Program (SPEP)
SPEP is the student arm of the UW Foundation. We provide leadership and volunteer opportunities for students. Our mission is to educate students about the impact and importance of philanthropy at UW.
“Being a part of SPEP has truly been the most transformative part of my Husky Experience. Through this student organization, I’ve had the opportunity to work with wonderful people from every corner of campus and learn many valuable skills. We are more than just a student organization; we are a community of philanthropists."

Real Dawgs Day!
Wednesday, May 17, 2017 - Red Square - 11:30 AM to 3 PM
To celebrate the impact that private support makes on our campus, SPEP (Student Philanthropy Education Program) is hosting their 7th annual spring philanthropy event on May 17th in Red Square from 11:30 AM to 3 PM. Our goal is to educate UW students about the impact donors make on each students unique #HuskyExperience.
Before students receive a free t-shirt and food/drink from Krispy Kreme and our sponsors (Coca-Cola and KIND bars), they are taught about the importance and impact of philanthropy through 1:1 interactions with students at our education stations.
Students also have the ability to learn more about how they can get involved with SPEP and its mission of service and leadership. Staff have students sign thank you cards to other special markets audiences (i.e. recent graduates or faculty and staff donors) in exchange for a Krispy Kreme donut.
SPEP Mentors & Advisors
SPEP is supported by two staff advisors and the UW Foundation. These mentors and advisors facilitate networking opportunities across UW and the Puget Sound Region as well as supporting SPEP students with professional development and "adulting."
