Work Study positions

Please check back after June 10th for Summer job listings which will be listed below.  Positions for the Academic Year 2019-20 (Autumn to Spring Quarters) will be available beginning in September. You have a choice of viewing them by job category or by department name. To view the online job descriptions you will need a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader. This free program may be obtained directly from Adobe.

Contact the individual employers to arrange an interview. You will need a Work Study Award Verification Form obtained at the Work Study Office which verifies your eligibility. Bothell and Tacoma students can pick up a Work Study Award Verification Form form from the Financial Aid offices at their campus.

The employer will complete and return this form to the Work Study Office when you have been hired. Summer Work Study begins July 1, 2019. Students awarded for Autumn Quarter may begin work on October 1, 2019. A new Award Verification Form will be required for students who worked full-time in the summer and wish to continue Autumn quarter. Award Verification Forms for autumn quarter will be available in September.

The Work Study Student Handbook contains helpful information on finding jobs, getting paid, the Workday Payroll Schedule, and other Work Study questions. You must follow the payroll schedule to be paid on time on the 10th and 25th of each month. Off-Campus Work Study employees will initially be paid by the employer and reimbursed by completing an off-campus timesheet.

Student employees working in support of research and instruction are subject to policies stated in the UW/UAW contract for Academic Student Employees (ASEs). Here is the most recent information on the contract.

If you have any specific questions, or need to check your eligibility, contact the Work Study office at 206.685.1985 or stop by Schmitz 520. Our hours are generally 10am – 4pm, Monday to Friday.
