Dream Project

Dream Project Courses

If you are a current UW student, are passionate about educational equity, and are interested in developing your leadership skills, register for a UW Dream Project course to mentor and/or apply for one of our internship positions and get involved!

Mentors must register for EDUC 260 or EDUC 401 and EDUC 369!

The EDUC 260 lecture (for new mentors) meets Mondays from 11:30AM – 12:50PM. In class, you’ll learn about different post-secondary pathways, and discuss matters related to educational equity, social justice, and college access. This is the lecture portion of the mentorship program meant to prepare you to visit local high schools to support students in post-secondary planning.

There are several EDUC 401 Seminars to choose from for returning mentors (who have already taken EDUC 260) covering a range of topics involving education and equity. Follow this link to find the AUT 21 offerings and select the seminar that works for you.

EDUC 369 is the service learning component of the program. In this course you will visit school sites to support students and families on a variety of post-secondary supports including but not limited to: financial aid, college applications, personal statements, scholarships, & career readiness.

These are 1-credit classes that count for I&S credits and the ELS minor. Dream Project mentors dedicate an average time commitment of 4 hours per week (this includes lecture). All courses are graded as credit/no-credit.
