Doin' It in Eastern Washington

Easter Seals is pleased to announce the co-location of Eastern Washington DO-IT staff in our Spokane office. DO-IT (Disabilities, Opportunities, Internetworking and Technology) is a University of Washington project offering assistance to students with disabilities in achieving higher education goals in challenging academic and career fields such as engineering, mathematics and technology. Through the use of the Internet, DO-IT Camps, summer study programs and the development of on-line peer and mentor relationships, DO-IT provides unique opportunities for students with disabilities to gain technical skills, succeed in higher education and pursue rewarding careers.

In collaboration with the Washington Assistive Technology Alliance (WATA), Easter Seals Spokane office also provides statewide assistive technology information, referral and assistive technology demonstrations to Eastern Washington residents.

According to Easter Seal Program Vice-President, Michael Lorsch, "The addition of the DO-IT program to Easter Seals respite, recreation, and computer loan services increases opportunities for cost-effective, centrally located and accessible services for people with disabilities and their families in Eastern Washington."
