The University of Washington Department of Dance believes dance is for everybody. We expand the meanings and experiences of dance as a field of study and a living art form. We employ pedagogical perspectives, research approaches, dance-making methods, and performance philosophies that are historically and culturally informed to elevate the value of play, creativity, critical thinking, and embodied knowledge for our students and global communities.
UW Dance Alumni Celebration Week (FREE ADMISSION)

The UW Department of Dance is excited to announce its first ever UW Dance Alumni Week! The UW Department of Dance invites all UW Dance alumni to attend classes for free all week long and dance alongside current students with new and returning faculty!
To culminate our Dance Alumni Week the UW Department of Dance invites all of our alumni to our celebration event on Friday, April 14th from 6:00pm-9:00pm inside Kane Hall’s Walker Ames Room (KNE225). There will be drinks, food, raffles, and community!

MFA Dance Concert
MAY 17-21, 2023
Join the Department of Dance for their first-ever concert in the round. Six premieres by our current graduate students, including one film, explore topics from Artificial Intelligence to the concept of Yin and Yang.
