  • Central: Corporate & Foundation Relations staff members are available to answer questions, provide guidance and help you connect to potential funders.
  • College/school: Your college or school has Advancement staff members who can help. The chief advancement officer or director of corporate and foundation relations is listed on your dean’s office directory.
  • Department: Your department’s administrator can help you understand the grant process, acquire internal signatures and find documents requested by a foundation funder.

Tami is the central point of contact for organizations seeking to work with the UW. She works with organizational representatives and UW leaders to develop and grow partnerships and engagements for the benefit of our region, nation and globe. Tami has driven the development of partnerships between academic institutions and public and private organizations for more than 15 years.

Todd Cleland

Todd Cleland

Todd develops and supports research-based engagements with industry, with a focus on engineering and technology. His expertise includes industry-sponsored projects, company involvement in government-funded programs, industry affiliate programs and connections for consulting. He also leads strategic projects to help make the University easier for companies to do business with. Prior to joining the UW, Todd had a 20+ year career at Hewlett-Packard, where he worked in R&D, management and business development roles. He is an inventor on 20 patents. Todd holds a B.S.E. from Princeton and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, both in chemical engineering; he also has a master’s degree in management from MIT’s Sloan School.

Rad Roberts

Rad Roberts

Rad is focused on developing productive partnerships between life science companies and UW health sciences researchers that help spark innovation and increase its ability to improve human health. Rad has 15 years of experience in health sciences technology commercialization, business development and business strategy in both industry and academic settings. Rad received a B.S. in biology from Stanford and a Ph.D. in biology from MIT. He has worked on research and commercialization projects in biochemistry, molecular genetics, microbiology, photonics, neuro-modulation, medical devices and biopharmaceuticals.

Terry Grant

Terry Grant

Terry facilitates corporate connections and collaborations with researchers and programs throughout the UW system. A chemical engineer by training, he has developed and commercialized several large-scale products and technologies, established and managed international strategic partnerships, been an inventor on eight patents and led large research initiatives. He holds chemical engineering degrees from Caltech (B.S.) and the University of California, Berkeley (Ph.D.) and a B.A in mathematics from Grinnell College.
