Rad is focused on developing productive partnerships between life science companies and UW health sciences researchers that help spark innovation and increase its ability to improve human health. Rad has 15 years of experience in health sciences technology commercialization, business development and business strategy in both industry and academic settings. Rad received a B.S. in biology from Stanford and a Ph.D. in biology from MIT. He has worked on research and commercialization projects in biochemistry, molecular genetics, microbiology, photonics, neuro-modulation, medical devices and biopharmaceuticals.

Terry facilitates corporate connections and collaborations with researchers and programs throughout the UW system. A chemical engineer by training, he has developed and commercialized several large-scale products and technologies, established and managed international strategic partnerships, been an inventor on eight patents and led large research initiatives. He holds chemical engineering degrees from Caltech (B.S.) and the University of California, Berkeley (Ph.D.) and a B.A in mathematics from Grinnell College.
