Volunteer Opportunity in Ghana

Akwaaba Volunteers is a new volunteer organization and registered charity based in Ghana’s capital of Accra. We offer a wide range of placements from teaching, childcare, sports coaching, animal welfare, primate conservation, medical, physiotherapy and midwifery. Our aim is to make a long term positive change to the communities that we are working with, using our projects to improve as many lives as possible, particularly those of the children.

Whilst in Ghana, we want our volunteers to make the most of their time in this vibrant country – we have an extremely experienced and knowledgeable team working at Akwaaba Volunteers and we understand that people want to experience as much as possible.  As a result, we are very flexible with what volunteers are able to do, we can coordinate multiple placements if a volunteer has more than one interest, we offer afternoon activities for all volunteers including visiting local markets, museums, local cooking lessons, local language lessons, local craft and t-shirt making, dance activities, organised sports against local teams, surf lessons at the beach etc. We also offer weekend travel opportunities across the country accompanied by experienced staff. In addition to this we can also offer an exclusive 2/3 week tour of Ghana. The three week tour starts with a week in Accra experiencing local culture and visiting schools and orphanages followed by the two weeks of travelling including Volta, Kumasi, Mole National Park, Koforidua, Cape Coast and Kokrobite.
