John Muir Elementary

Beacon Hill International School

Graham Hill Elementary

Hawthorne Elementary

Wing Luke Elementary


Days/Times Volunteers Needed (when does program operate?):


Starte and end dates are flexible.


A minimum of 2-3 per week (depends on school site) for at least 2 months. Ideally, we would love if someone can commit through May 25, 2017.


Beacon Hill Int’l School & Hawthorne Elementary- Monday-Thursday, 2:00-4:30


Graham Hill & John Muir- Tuesday & Thursday, 2:00-4:30


Wing Luke- 2:00-5:00


General Function/Purpose:

Graham Hill, BHIS, John Muir, and Hawthorne- Provide supervision and management of students in specialty enrichment classes and assist them in completing their activities (varies from large motor activities to arts/crafts).


Wing Luke- Provide supervision and management of students. Provide student support during homework, math, English Language Arts, and enrichment activities.


Training Provided or Required:

A school orientation and tour will be given at the beginning of volunteer experience. Additional technical training will be provided as needed.

This is a wonderful opportunity to positively impact the lives of young people in our community. Our intention is to create a positive opportunity for volunteers, and fill a need for our after school programs.

We have an open feedback system.  We like to check in with our volunteers on a regular basis to ensure they are having a successful experience.

Supervisor/ directed staff person


Time commitment:

A minimum of 2-3 hours per week


Skill requirements:



Previous work with elementary students is preferred but not required. Experience working with diverse communities and communities of color is a bonus!


Volunteers must undergo background check and take an online child abuse prevention training.


Start date: 12/1/16- Flexible


End date: 5/25/17- Flexible
