About the organization:

Neighborcare Health is the largest provider of primary medical, dental, and behavioral health care services in Seattle focusing on low-income and uninsured families and individuals, seniors on fixed incomes, immigrants, and the homeless. Our mission is to provide comprehensive health care to families and individuals who have difficulty accessing care; respond with sensitivity to the needs of our culturally diverse patients; and advocate and work with others to improve the overall health status of the communities we serve. We currently have clinics throughout the Seattle metro area, located in neighborhoods where health disparities are the greatest. We are seeking interested students and/or community members to volunteer with our clinics.

Position description: health outreach at community events and resource fairs, assisting in oral health presentations to elementary and high school students and school based health screenings, outreach calls, registered nurses to perform blood pressure and glucose screenings, and a variety of exposure to the workings inside of a non-profit clinic.

Time Commitment: 6 months or 100 hours

Skills requirements: We request all applicants commit to either 6 months or 100 hours of service and to be reliable.

Start date: All positions are open now. Onboarding takes about 6 weeks.
