Volunteer Tutor

Position title: Volunteer Tutor

Position description:

What you will get to do:

  • Work with our youth to provide tutoring and educational assistance, as a main priority.

Time commitment:

Tutoring is frequently requested between 3 and 7pm M-TH. Possible opportunity to tutor on Saturdays. We would like to see you approximately 2 – 4 hours per week on a consistent day and time.

 

Skill requirements:

  • Willingness and interest in working with school-age children
  • Patience, cultural sensitivity, and good communication skills
  • An ability to relate to youth
  • Problem solving skills
  • Basic computer, and data-entry, skills
  • Willingness and patience to learn, and navigate web-based software
  • Desire to do online research
  • A strong attention to details and accuracy
  • Strong written and organizational abilities
  • A sense of humor

 

Start date: As soon as you are available.

 

End date: Minimum commitment of one quarter, longer commitments are preferred.

 

Location:

Office is located on Rainier Ave S near Columbia City, official address given post-interview.
