Position description:

Peace for the Streets by Kids from the Streets is a resource center and shelter for young adults experiencing homelessness on Capitol Hill.  Operating on a low barrier philosophy, PSKS is committed to empowering young adults and building a community of former and current homeless youth to advocate for themselves.

PSKS serves a population of which roughly 50% identify as LGBTQ, and is the only shelter that allows pets.

 

The drop in center at PSKS is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12-3.  Volunteer  youth advocates assist in sign ups for various amenities, serve food, and engage with participants.

 

Time commitment:

Min. 2 hours per week

 

Skill requirements:

Food Handler’s Permit a plus, but not essential
