WestSide Baby serves local children in need as a vibrant, face paced, strategic organization focused on providing essential items such as diapers, clothing, car seats and more free of charge through partnerships with established social service agency provider partners. We are fun, fast paced and rapidly growing.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

 

WestSide Baby is recruiting a passionate and results oriented AmeriCorps Vista member to support our strategic program and outreach efforts. AmeriCorps VISTA members are passionate and committed to the mission of helping move individuals and communities out of poverty. Serving as a Vista means that you will work under the umbrella of the Federal AmeriCorps program while working for WestSide Baby as we serve families throughout King County with items that keep children safe, warm and dry. This position is a year-long term with potential, but no guarantee, to be extended.

 

Reporting to the Deputy Director/Program Manager, this position will support our capacity–building efforts as we expand the scale and reach of our core programs. As we strategically grow as an organization, we must analyze, develop strategy, and enact a plan to deepen our presence and engagement within identified communities and among potential donor populations. In this role, you will engage and steward relationships, lead impact surveys, map impact geographically and help identify potential growth areas and assist in identifying community partners and potential donors.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Relationship Management and Community Development (50%)

 

Community Support Identification & Engagement

 

* Work with Marketing Manager to build awareness through current community support model

 

* Work with the Program team to build support for in-kind donations by expanding current community support and involvement

 

* Lead In-kind drive initiatives including, communication, recruitment, preparation and tracking to enhance and grow our physical donations of strategic items.

 

Program Impact Measurement (40%)

 

Develop and conduct community impact survey with current and potential Provider Partners

 

* Build understanding of how we currently measure and talk about impact of our programs

 

* Develop and execute a survey to measure need for services in line with our current and potential impact opportunities

 

* Participate in strategic discussions to utilize findings

 

* Collect Stories of Impact for use in planning, development and marketing

 

Map high impact areas

 

* Compile geographic information of poverty within King County

 

* Use WSB data to map current distribution reach of services to high need areas to help understand actual WSB impact and potential growth

 

* Report findings of need vs current geographic impact areas

 

* Develop suggestions for strategic distribution expansion in high need areas

 

Administration (10%)

 

* Data entry as needed

 

* Monitor position goals and milestones

Skill requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

* Must be 18 years of age

 

* Must meet requirements of VISTA

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

* Outgoing self-starter with excellent communication skills

 

* Quick learner

 

* Familiar with Microsoft Office

 

* Detail oriented

 

* Comfortable making calls to organizations/individuals on behalf of WestSide Baby

 

* Ability to gather and sort data
