Position description:

Peace for the Streets by Kids from the Streets (PSKS) is a 50(c) 3 non-profit organization located in Capitol Hill that provides support and services to Seattle area homeless youth and young adults. Our committed efforts aim to provide stepping stones to transition youth from the streets to self-sufficiency and productive roles in their communities.

 

PSKS’s RISE (Re-Inventing Steps to Education) program is an alternative educational program reaching out to youth, young adults, and marginalized community members who have not been successful in the traditional school system. The program facilitates General Educational Development (GED) completion. RISE uses a learner-centered approach that provides individualized educational support.

 

Position:

We are currently looking for tutors who can provide one-on-one in class support to RISE program participants here at PSKS on Capitol Hill for 1-3 hours once a week. WE ESPECIALLY NEED TUTORS FLUENT IN SPANISH.

Tutors will receive a 4 hour comprehensive training and will be supported be the RISE program coordinator while in the classroom.

 

*** Training will be held SATURDAY JUNE 5 from 10:00 am- 2:00 pm

 

Time commitment:

1-4 hours/week

 

Skill requirements:

High School Diploma

Spanish Fluency

 

Start date:

ASAP

 

End date:

3 month minimum
