Friends of the Children needs your help!

Join the team at Friends of the Children who are breaking the cycles of abuse and neglect right in our neighborhood! Our ideal candidate will roll up their sleeves and dive deep into a research project; and also take time to laugh and chat with our youth and mentors. Help Friends of the Children help our most vulnerable youth in the Seattle-metro area. By providing tutoring and specialized help for students in grades 1-12 our youth can master critical skills and strive for excellence in academics and beyond! Tutors will work on-site at the Friends of the Children office with elementary, middle-school and/or high school students. With your skills and talents we can make our children’s future brighter.

Position Title:

  • Intern Research Volunteer

Time commitment:

  • 1-2 days, 8 hours per week for at *least* 1 quarter

Skill requirements:

  • 1-2 years of tutoring experience;
  • Willingness and interest in working with school-age children; Patience, cultural sensitivity, and good communication skills; An ability to relate to youth; Problem solving skills; Basic computer, and data-entry, skills; Willingness and patience to learn, and navigate web-based software; Desire to do online research; A strong attention to details and accuracy; Strong written and organizational abilities; A sense of humor.
