Keeping priority projects on track, on budget

The Project Management Office (PMO) ensures that the overall portfolio of Academic and Student Affairs’ (ASA) projects are aligned with the University’s mission and strategic goals. We oversee high priority projects, keeping them on schedule, within budget, and within scope. The PMO establishes and shares best practices to encourage collaboration, standardization, and continuous improvement in our UW community.

Our approach

The PMO works with ASA units and partners to:

  • Develop and support processes to prioritize projects/initiatives, allocate resources, and track the performance of the project portfolio and related investments
  • Use data to monitor performance of high priority projects and ensure they are accomplishing their objectives
  • Develop and support standard methodologies based on industry best practices to manage projects efficiently and effectively
  • Communicate¬†project status and financial health as well as mitigation of issues, risk and dependencies across projects, departments and divisions
  • Provide project management consultation to project teams
