About the speaker

Portrait: Wolf LatschWolf Latsch is director of UW Study Abroad, overseeing the UW’s international programs and exchanges. He received his D.Phil. (PhD) in Economics from the University of Oxford in 2000. He has taught economics and international studies at the University of Oxford, Northwestern University, and at the UW, where he arrived in 2003. Latsch was awarded the UWAA’s ‘Favorite Professor’ award in 2005 and has been nominated for both the UW’s distinguished faculty and distinguished staff awards. Latsch was born in Heidelberg and is a native of Germany (both sides of his family come from towns along the Rhine that are part of this cruise). His research interests are in economic history, especially Britain and the eighteenth century. He is an affiliate faculty member in the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies where he previously worked as an assistant professor, director of the International Studies B.A. program, and director of academic services.

Day 1: Depart gateway city

Day 2: Arrive in Frankfurt | Transfer to Cologne and MS Amadeus Silver II

Day 3: Cologne

Day 4: Rhine Gorge | Rudesheim

Day 5: Speyer | Heidelberg

Day 6: Strasbourg

Day 7: Breisach | Freiburg

Day 8: Basel

Day 9: Disembark ship | Transfer to Zürich airport and depart for gateway city
