Q’s Corner: Notes from the International Trustee

Lee, Kyu CDear International Huskies,

Happy Holidays!

I am writing to you from the air headed from Seattle, bound for Seoul, Korea. Can you believe how quickly time has flown by? It was literally the start of our football season and now it’s already the end with our bowl appearance in Las Vegas and our #8 Women’s Volleyball Team in the Elite 8!! Go Dawgs!!

So much has happened since my last newsletter in the Fall. UW Converge Taipei was a huge success thanks to our incredible Taipei Alumni Chapter who went above and beyond on the ground, along with the fantastic support team who flew across the globe led by our president, Ana Mari Cauce and her power packed inspiring message.

Alumni from all over Asia and Seattle joined in celebration of our annual reunion filled with new and renewed friendships, interesting lectures and Q&A’s boasting our alumni talent that are changing the world, fundraising and memories that will last a lifetime, all in one unforgettable weekend. For those of you who missed us this time, don’t you worry as in 2020 you can catch us at UW Converge Shanghai! They have some big shoes to fill after what Japan and Taiwan have shown us recently. I guarantee you won’t want to miss it!

Elsewhere around the globe, Indonesia officially started their chapter and Japan has commenced their first fundraising effort for the University. As none of these milestones are an easy task, if you find an opportunity to congratulate your fellow alumni or even feel inspired to contribute — whether it be by volunteering your time or even making a gift — your support is greatly appreciated and will not go unnoticed.

As we wind down 2019 and prepare for the 2020 countdown, happy holidays to all of you, and stay healthy and happy — hopefully with the ones you love the most. Happy New Year!
