We want to see how you celebrate Purple Pride at home! Take a photo of your living room decked out in Husky gear, snap a screenshot of your virtual tailgate or make a video of your very own cheer routine. Whatever you do, show your Husky Spirit, post the photo (or video) on social media following the steps below. You’ll be entered to win four round-trip tickets on Alaska Airlines plus passes to the Alaska Lounge. Here’s what to do:

  • Share your photo or video on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #HuskyHomeSpirit.
  • Follow and tag both the UW Alumni Association (@uwalum) and Alaska Airlines (@alaskaair) in your post.
  • Make sure we can see the post by setting the privacy to public.

By participating, Entrants agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Contest Rules (“Rules”) and the Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) set forth below, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. Sponsor reserves the right to interpret and apply these Rules and Terms in its sole discretion, and to modify or terminate the Contest at any time.


The Contest is open only to entrants 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Sponsor, and University of Washington Advancement employees, their affiliates and subsidiaries, and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they live) or persons living in the same households of such individuals, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter or win a prize. THE CONTEST IS VOID OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES, AND WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

The Contest Period starts November 2, 2020 at 7:30 a.m. Pacific Time (PT) and ends December 19, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Sponsor controls the official time-keeping device for the Contest.

To Enter: Take a photo or video of yourself watching at home or a screenshot of a virtual viewing party and post it on Twitter, or Instagram. Tag and follow both the UW Alumni Association and Alaska Airlines (@uwalum and @alaskaair), and include #HuskyHomeSpirit in your post. Make sure the privacy setting of your post is set to public.

The Sponsor is not responsible for late, misdirected, or delayed entries. No mechanical reproductions or facsimiles of entries allowed. All entries become the exclusive property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

By entering the Husky Home Spirit Contest, you represent and warrant that:
Submissions that contain any defamatory, libelous, indecent or obscene material will not be considered eligible.

If your photo or video is selected you will receive, four (4) round-trip coach class air travel certificates and four (4) lounge passes courtesy of Alaska Airlines. The approximate retail value of prize is one thousand, one hundred and sixty dollars ($1,160).

The travel authorization (certificate) is valid for flights served by Alaska Airlines, Horizon Airlines and/or applicable Skywest Airlines flights. Mileage Plan Miles cannot be earned or credited. First Class paid upgrades or mileage plan upgrades are allowed. Connections are also allowed (subject to fare rules) First Bag Free for Alaska Airlines Visa Signature® Cardholders. The certificate is valid for three months from date of issue with no extensions permitted. Black out dates apply: Nov 20-28, 2020, Dec. 18, 2019-JAN 1, 2021.  The certificate is void if bartered or sold. If lost, the certificate may not be reissued.

Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prizes (or a portion thereof) of equal or greater value. No substitutions or transfers of prize(s) are permitted by the winner(s), except at Sponsor’s sole discretion.
All taxes and all other costs associated with acceptance or use of the above prize(s) are the sole responsibility of the applicable winner.

Winning photo or video will be selected by the Sponsor or a party acting on its behalf, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to this Contest. The Winners will be notified by email no later than January 5, 2021 and will be required to reply by January 11, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. PST to such notification or the prize will be forfeited.

Each entrant acknowledges and agrees that the entry (photo or video) and the names, voices, and likenesses of any person appearing in the entry, may be published by Sponsor and its designees, licensees or affiliates, which will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval from entrant or any person appearing in the entry in connection with such use.

Certain restrictions may apply.

Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual deemed to be (a) tampering or attempting to tamper Website; or (b) acting in violation of these Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON(S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

By participating in the Contest, Entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor and their officers, directors, employees, agents, subsidiaries, affiliates, distributors, sales representatives, advertising and promotional agencies from any causes of action arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any Prize, including, but not limited to: (a) any technical errors that may prevent an Entrant from submitting an entry; (b) unauthorized human intervention in the Contest; (c) printing errors; (d) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; (e) errors, technical or otherwise, in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; or (f) injury, death, or damages (including punitive, consequential, direct or indirect) to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in Released Parties assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries.

Any individual (or other duly authorized person) may elect to exclude the name and address of that individual from all lists used by Sponsor related to the Contest. To elect to omit all such lists, submit a removal request in writing to: UW Alumni Association c/o Marketing Department, 4333 Brooklyn Ave. NE, Campus Box 359508, Seattle, Washington 98195-9508. This notification system may be used to prohibit mailing of all Contest by Sponsor to such individual.

Except where prohibited, you agree that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Contest or any Prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in the state of Washington. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Rules, your rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Washington without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the state of Washington or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the state of Washington.
