Ed Taylor, ’94, is vice provost and dean of Undergraduate Academic Affairs at the University of Washington. He oversees educational opportunities that advance and deepen the undergraduate experience. He is also a professor in the UW’s College of Education, which he joined in 1995. His research and teaching center on comparative education in the U.S. and South Africa; moral dimensions of education and integrative education; and leadership in education and social justice. The UW Faculty Field Tour is a five-day immersive tour of the state of Washington, designed for faculty members who are new to the state and to the University. Designed as a way to get to know our diverse and fascinating state, past participants note that they not only enjoyed the beautiful landscapes beyond the Puget Sound region, but also gained important context about where students are coming from and how UW has impacts across the state.
