Franc Michael

Thank you for your inquiry--teachers are largely unsung heroes of developing minds.

Franc Michael of Far Eastern Studies--in 1952--received a standing ovation at the final class. Many were grad students. I was a "frightened freshman" who found herself with seniors and graduate students--probably an error--but "got my A." He was vital, exciting, thought provoking, stimulating and fun--and knowledgeable!

That is the only course I was able to take under him--an elective. I was in science and have been practicing dental hygiene 42 years now. I can still see him, smiling and excited about his subject!

It was a great experience--the U of W.
