Tickets are still available for the UW Summer Arts Festival, which will feature theater, dance, film, music and the visual arts based on the theme of quartets. It will be held July 18-22 on the UW campus.

Headlining the festival is a performance by the innovative Kronos Quartet on Saturday, July 22 in Meany Theater. On Friday, July 21, another contemporary quartet, John Zorn and Masada, will take center stage at Meany Theater.

In addition, faculty, students and alumni in drama, music, dance and art will present offerings. Faculty from all four arts disciplines are collaborating on several UW courses offered Summer Quarter and there are outreach programs aimed at K-12 teachers and the public.

Alumni achievements also will be recognized in the Jacob Lawrence Gallery in the Art Building during the festival. 16 alumni artists from four decades will include Dale Chihuly, Chuck Close, Glen Rudolph, Claudia Fitch and Margaret Ford.

Funding comes from the UW's Tools for Transformation project and the College of Arts and Sciences. For more information on the UW Summer Arts Festival, call the UW Arts Ticket Office at (206) 543-4880 or visit the Festival Web site.
