When you think of wellness, do you think of merely food and fitness? Are you an avid exerciser like me, yet your bedroom closet is a complete mess and your finances could be a little better? Or, instead, do you focus only on nutrition and budgets because you feel you have no time to exercise [...]
As many of you know, the Washington Huskies football team is doing quite well for itself this season. Not only did they break the losing streak to the Oregon Ducks, but they also beat the Stanford Cardinal to rise in the ranks as the top seated team in the North Division. On November 26th, UW [...]

When the weather is dry, we see athletes of all kinds out and around town, some with their wheeled gear and elbow pads shredding sidewalks and roads alike. After catching wind of a pretty intense roller sport called roller derby, I thought I would take some time to dig a little deeper into what it [...]

Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or you struggle to touch your toes, join us in celebrating National Yoga Month this September! From relaxation to stress relief to strength building, yoga's many benefits promote a happier and healthier lifestyle. Apart from getting you moving, practicing yoga can improve your mental health by making you stronger both mentally and physically. So why not give it a try? To celebrate, we’re teaming up with the UW Mindfulness Project, an organization that aims to create a mindful culture on campus. During the whole month of September, you’ll find a variety of yoga-centered activities (in-person and virtual) to help you get centered.

No matter what you’re doing to focus on fitness during the Summer Throwdown, keep it up!

You’re riding your bicycle to and from work, you started taking a yoga class, etc., whatever you’re doing to get moving is great — keep it up! — but are you doing enough physical activity to meet the recommended guidelines? Before we [...]
