These Roadmap governing bodies were created in 2009:


Roadmap Executive Sponsors:

  • Oversee and guide all aspects of the Roadmap program
  • Make decisions regarding sequencing, prioritization, capacity planning
  • Guide development of Roadmap investment plan

Roadmap Oversight Group:

  • Detailed capacity planning
  • Holistic prioritization
  • Change management
  • Recommendations to Roadmap Executive Sponsors

Enterprise Architecture Steering Group:

  • Oversight and prioritization for enterprise architecture
  • Define guiding principles and vision for UW information, applications, and technology architectures

Roadmap Executive Sponsors

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide all aspects of the University of Washington Strategic Roadmap for Information Management and Administrative Systems (Roadmap) program, ensuring alignment with UW policies and priorities and across Roadmap projects.
  • Review and approve recommendations of the Roadmap Oversight Group on key directions and priorities.
  • Make decisions regarding sequencing, timing, resourcing, capacity planning and prioritization for all Roadmap projects.
  • Provide advice, guidance and support of Roadmap communications to key internal and external stakeholders and provide support for the Roadmap program.
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to the development and execution of a Roadmap investment strategy.
  • Resolve key issues that might impact Roadmap program progress or success.

Roadmap Oversight Group

The Roadmap Oversight Group is charged with providing strategic guidance and coordination across Roadmap initiatives and making recommendations to the Roadmap Executive Sponsors. The group is responsible for viewing the Roadmap initiatives holistically—ensuring they are aligned with each other and are supporting the University of Washington's highest priorities.
The Roadmap Oversight Group is advisory to the Roadmap Executive Sponsors. It makes recommendations to the Roadmap Executive Sponsors on key decisions and directions and issues that may impact the Roadmap initiatives.

Scope

The Roadmap Oversight Group is charged with overseeing the following four Roadmap Initiatives:

  • Information for Decision Making
  • Replace the Base
  • Redesign Processes
  • Enhance and Renew Systems

Roles and Responsibilities

The Roadmap Oversight Group will have strategic focus. It will evaluate and resolve key issues including:

  • Project prioritization and sequencing
  • Funding and risk
  • Resource and organizational capacity
  • Change management

Enterprise Architecture Steering Group

The Enterprise Architecture Steering Group provides oversight and prioritization for enterprise architecture, and identifies opportunities for defining and refining the guiding principles and vision for UW information, applications, and technology architectures.  The EASG balances strategic vision with pragmatic execution, and encourages work toward common solutions.
