Enterprise Reporting Initiative

The Enterprise Reporting Initiative (ERI) seeks to ensure a consistent and cohesive approach to UW data reporting efforts.  This program produces reports across all data areas (student, finance, human resources, and research) to meet central and local needs. It defines data needs, creates institutional data definitions, prioritizes and develops reports, and provides online access to reports and definitions.

Groups involved include Information Management, Registrar’s Office, Human Resources, Finance and Facilities, Office of Research Information Services, the Office of Planning and Budgeting, and schools and colleges.

ERI grew out of a project that initially focused on answering the "Top 5" data questions asked by deans and chancellors. See a final summary of Top 5 questions, issues, and results. It is now an ongoing program that is working to meet the UW's reporting needs.

Catalog of Enterprise Reports

Reports are grouped in four major subject areas in the table below. They have different origins, data sources, and formats. This is the first time widely-used reports are being made available centrally. The list of reports included here will grow over time.

Expense Transfer Report Displays posted salary and non-salary expense transfers for selected Org Codes for a selected date range. MyFD Expense Transfer Volume Report Displays metrics for a selected date range about the volume of Expense Transfers initiated/executed in MyFinancialDesktop, beginning with Dec-08-2008. Enterprise Data Warehouse, Office of Information Management
Remaining Balance by OrgCode Answers the Top 5 question: How much money do I have to spend?  Displays balances for budget categories with a drill through to individual budget balances for each budget category. Enterprise Data Warehouse, Office of Information Management
Tran Summary by OrgCode Displays individual transactions that impacted the budgets for the selected Org Codes, by account code, during a reporting period. Enterprise Data Warehouse, Office of Information Management
University of Washington Annual Reports   Provides financial highlights, financial statements, as well as stories of achievement from the University's fiscal year. Office of Financial Management
Payroll Load Rates  Rates used to charge fringe benefit costs to budgets. Examples of fringe benefits include Worker's Compensation, Unemployment Compensation, Health Plans, Retirement Plans, Social Security and Medicare. Financial Accounting, Office of Financial Management
Treasury Endowment Reports The annual Endowment Report provides information on the Consolidated Endowment Fund, life income (including trusts and annuities), externally held trusts and non-consolidated endowments. Treasury Office, Office of Financial Management

Affirmative Action Plans  As a federal contractor, the UW is required to prepare a yearly Affirmative Action Plan.
