Visual Communication and Design Instructor

Description

The Visual Communication and Design Instructor will be in charge of teaching, managing and developing workshops related to Graphics and Design, aimed at the UW community. Approximately two-hour long workshops previously offered in the Graphics and Design area include Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Microsoft PowerPoint and Research Poster Design. The successful candidate for this position would be expected to teach, update, and add to these workshop offerings based on the UW community's needs, as well as giving occasional one-on-one consultations to students and faculty members who need them, and answering client emails about technologies and software that falls in the Visual Communication and Design area.

The position offers competitive pay, a highly flexible schedule (workshops are scheduled at the instructors' discretion), a great team of co-instructors, and the opportunity to get experience speaking in public and teaching a wide variety of people. We believe this is one of the greatest benefits of the position, and would strongly encourage people who are interested in teaching, design, or in the digital humanities or digital scholarship to apply.

We are currently looking to fill this position as soon as possible with the best possible candidate and are happy  to interview candidates by Skype or Google Hangout if they are not able to come to campus. Training is available on all essential position duties, and will be provided by the outgoing instructor.
