Customer Service & Support

The Customer Service and Support division is responsible for providing information technology consulting and help desk support for voice and data, managed desktops, computer repair, and customer relationship management to departments, faculty, staff and students.  This unit also provides 7x24x365 monitoring, reporting, and troubleshooting for a wide variety of systems, applications, facility, and security related events.

The UW-IT Service Center, Consulting, Computer Maintenance, and the Managed Desktop teams build and strengthen relationships with UW faculty, staff, and students by handling requests and providing support for the services UW-IT delivers. Working with our Relationship Management team, they partner to understand the business needs of UW departments and their goals for supporting the University’s mission.

Our Computer Operations team provides excellent foundation services by 7x24 monitoring of critical systems and infrastructure.

Key Initiatives

  • Provide the support structure in UW-IT  to successfully operate, maintain, and support the UW Exchange Service
  • Standardize and streamline the service intake process and assignment of service requests to appropriate service groups via a Request Fulfillment process

Services

This division is responsible for the following units:

  • Call Centers & Communications Solutions. Designing, developing, and supporting the communications needs of both on-campus and off-campus locations for the UW, UW health care systems, and affiliates.
  • Computer Operations. Providing 24x7x365 support for a variety of services including the Technology Service Center, Data Center & Facilities, and other associated departments.
  • IT Consulting & Support. Providing a wide range of consulting services to UW faculty, staff, and departments
  • Technology Service Center. Providing services and support for UW faculty, staff, students, and UW affiliates at three campuses and multiple off-campus locations, including several major UW health care groups, through a service center that responds and routes inquiries to help@uw.edu.
