Inner Pipeline
Since Winter of 1998, the Pipeline Project has offered UW students a wide variety of Inner Pipeline seminars each quarter.
Inner Pipeline seminars are offered for a base of 2 credits and focus on various current educational topics. Requirements include participating in a weekly Pipeline seminar and tutoring for at least 2.5 hours a week in the Seattle Public Schools or other community organizations. Seminar topics range from exploring the current K-12 world of education to arts in the schools, science, math, literacy in the justice system, and more. A student may opt to register for 1 credit if it means avoiding an additional registration fee. Students may also register for additional credits.
Note: We cannot enroll students in Inner Pipeline seminars after the second class session has met. Enrollment after the first class has met is considered on a case-by-case basis.
The number of credits earned for each seminar depends on the number of tutoring hours completed within the quarter:
- 2 credits: 2.5 hours tutoring/week (at least 20 hours tutoring/quarter)
- 3 credits: 5 hours tutoring/week (at least 40 hours tutoring/quarter)
- 4 credits: 7.5 hours tutoring/week (at least 60 hours tutoring/quarter)
- 5 credits: 10 hours tutoring/week (at least 80 hours tutoring/quarter
