Mining

4 August 1899. Fox Gulch, Yukon Terr. I am working for wages now but don't think the job will last very long....

10 June 1900. Monte Cristo Hill, Klondike District. ...only worked 9 hours and a half and eleven days last month on account of not getting any water to wash with only for that I would have got my pay long ago. Although a great many have gone down the River to Cape Nome, Koyukuk and the Tanana. There are lots of people in here looking for work.
