Document 25: Report from the Seattle trade newspaper of one of the Chamber of Commerce's plans to promote the gold rush and Seattle.

Gold Sent From Seattle to the East

The Bureau of Information of the Seattle Chamber of Commerce on Dec. 18 shipped by express 30 lbs of gold dust and nuggets for exhibition in the Great Northern offices in cities from St. Paul to Boston and return by way of Louisville and Omaha. This circuit will cover nearly every leading city in the United States. The Puget Sound National Bank of Commerce secured the gold for the bureau and attest to its genuineness, and the exhibit is handsomely displayed in boxes under plate glass.
