Kennewick Man: The Debate That Spans 9,000 Years
In July 1996, human skeletal remains were found along the Columbia River that are believed to be 9,300 years old. This discovery has since devolved into a dispute between area Native American tribes, who want the bones to rest in peace,
and scientists who want to study the remains. This site, hosted by the Tri-City Herald, traces the development of this
story by archiving the Herald's news stories from the present back to the bones' discovery. There are also opinion pieces and numerous links to online resources related to the controversy. http://www.kennewick-man.com/

of online resources and Internet links of interest to the scholarly community. The archive of postings can also be searched by keywords or phrases. http://www.h-net.msu.edu/~west/ |
