The BIG ONE is Today — the Great UW ShakeOut

Today, October 20, 2016, at approximately 10:20am, the UW Campus as well the entire State of Washington, will be hit by a 9.0 magnitude earthquake!  Of course, while earthquake prediction is still not possible, preparing for the impacts of a catastrophic events such as this is both simple and survivable!  Dozens of UW buildings, including thousands of students, faculty and staff, voluntarily participated in this year’s statewide Great ShakeOut drill.  Remember:  Don’t Be Scared — Be Prepared!  For more information, resources and information on earthquake preparedness, see our Seismic Resilience website.
