YMCA
People just like you are helping make our community a better place through the YMCA. By giving your time, you join seven generations of visionary citizens who have helped the YMCA to address our community's evolving needs.
With a variety of programs and locations, both one-time and ongoing opportunities, there is something for every volunteer interest at the Y. Read more at the YMCA of Greater Seattle website.
Treehouse
Volunteers power Treehouse, collectively donating an average of 1,100 hours per month – that's the equivalent of almost seven extra full-time staff members. Volunteers strengthen every Treehouse program, working as tutors, event staff, Wearhouse organizers, envelope stuffers, members of the Board of Directors and much more. Visit Treehouse's website for more information.
Seattle Ronald McDonald House
Volunteers play a huge role in supporting our daily operations. As the second largest Ronald McDonald House in the world, we rely on volunteers to help us provide a warm and welcoming home-away-from-home for families. Each month, over 500 volunteers contribute their time to keeping the House open every day of the year. For more information, visit the Seattle Ronald McDonald House website.
Sanctuary Art Center
The best way to help is to volunteer! The vision, patience, and focus required to complete a work of art are the same skills needed to move from one stage of life to another. We hope to provide an opportunity for homeless youth to experience the healing power of their creative energy. We seek volunteers who would like to be a part of this process. Visit Sanctuary Art Center.
University District Food Bank
Volunteers make all that we do at the University District Food Bank possible! Every month, our volunteers donate over 1200 hours of their time.
Volunteers assist with customer check-in, bagging groceries after customers go shopping, restocking shelves, helping unload trucks, repackaging bulk items, sorting through donations, picking up food from area stores, and serving on our Board of Directors.
Volunteer opportunities are available most weekdays we are open to distribute food, including Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and occasionally on weekends. Visit the University District Food Bank's website for volunteer information.
Hope for Horses
Volunteering is not for everyone especially when it comes to working with or around horses. It's hard work. It takes patience. It takes consistency. But the rewards are so much greater than the costs. And at Hope For Horses, we need you more every day.
Last year's volunteers contributed nearly 1,500 hours of time to Hope For Horses. That is more than four hours per day, 365 days per year. Our volunteers are involved in every single aspect of what we do. Every day, they muck stalls, groom horses, mend things, pick up and deliver things, respond to reports of neglect, support fosters, make phone calls, raise funds, and do those million and one tasks that keep things running. Visit the Hope for Horses website for more information on volunteering.
