Software Overview
The University of Washington has a site license with Insightful, Corp., for S-PLUS Windows and UNIX/Linux/Windows NT Server systems. See the Insightful Web site for additional information on S-PLUS.The S-PLUS site license package now includes the modules below
- S+FinMetrics (Windows and Solaris and Linux only, replaces S+GARCH)
- S+Wavelets
- S+SpatialStats
- S+EnvironmentatalStats (Windows only)
- S+DataMiner (Windows and Solaris only)

License Details
S-PLUS is available to current UW students, faculty and staff while with the UW.- The use of S-PLUS Windows software is valid until you leave the University and as long as the Site License Agreement is renewed by the UW.
- The S-PLUS UNIX/Linux/Windows NT Server software is renewed annually.
- UWare Software Licensing administers this site license.
- S-PLUS for Windows - $175
- S-PLUS for Windows NT/Linux/Solaris Server - $400 for 20 seat
concurrent user license
- Annual renewal to receive new license codes
- License period - 4/1/08 to 3/31/09
- License fees are not prorated
Each year UWare reviews the licensing contract. If it is renewed, Windows users may continue to use their software while affiliated with the UW; UNIX/Linux/Windows NT Server must renew annually to receive the new license code. The software ceases to function March 31st.
Getting the Software
- Order S-PLUS from the UWare Store.
Software Updates/Patches
- S-PLUS update patches are offered at no charge as they become available to download from Insightful.
- S-PLUS Windows users need to purchase each new version.
- S-PLUS UNIX/Linux/Windows NT Server licensees receive new versions at no additional charge.
