Software Overview

NAG is a suite of scientific and mathematical software products. See NAG Academic Site License Initiative. The NAG software available consists of the following products and versions:

System Requirements
Workstations running DEC UNIX, HPUX, AIX, IRIX, SunOS, Sun Solaris, Intel Linux (32 and 64 bit), Apple Mac OS X, or Windows NT/2000/XP. Most NAG software is available for most platforms. If you have a question about software availability for your platform, please contact cwhip@amath.washington.edu.

License Details

UW student, faculty or staff on workstations owned by participating departments located on campus.

Cost
Departments have traditionally joined the consortium by paying an equal share of the $7500 license cost. Seven departments and the College of Arts and Sciences contributed to the July 2007 renewal. Payment of a share allows the department to use any or all of the software listed above. Contact Chris Whip at cwhip@amath.washington.edu for information.

Note: When the consortium ceases to fund the license, all use of the software under this agreement must cease.

Getting the Software

For faculty and staff members of participating departments, first contact your departmental computer administrator. If the software that you need has not already been installed on your system, check the NAG ASLI web site for information about each product - said information includes download instructions and documentation.
