USER Project Communication Plan
Communication Goals
- Actively seek University-wide input
- Keep the project team and the University community well-informed
- Promote project accountability
- Align the project with the priorities of the community
Inputs to Project Team
The USER project will transform services which
support people as they carry out the University of Washington mission.
To be successful, the project will have to
actively reach out for ideas and opinions.
The project will gather input in the following ways:
- Everyone is encouraged to send email to the project team.
- The User Project will actively gather information from the University community using focus groups, surveys, and other methods.
- The project will learn from other institutions through site visits and conferences.
Outputs from Project Team
The USER project has a responsibility to keep the University community
informed by providing communication:
- To the University community and beyond through web pages and UWeek articles
- To service users through timely meetings, announcements, training, and other methods
- To the Steering Committee through status reports
Project Web Pages
The World Wide Web provides an outstanding medium for distributing
information. The USER web pages will be one of the most important
tools for project communication, including:
- USER project description
- A mechanism for getting feedback
- Organization chart with roles and introductions to team members
- Links to UIF documentation, original proposal and announcements
- Status reports
Status Report Contents
- Status of major activities (started/in progress/completed)
- Major changes in scope or approach
- Issues that extend beyond one part of the project
