C&C UCD logo

The Office of Information Management (OIM) applies user-centered design practices to:

  • Involve users throughout the product lifecycle
  • Understand users, their needs, and their capabilities
  • Design usable products that complement the users' work process and environment

The OIM User-Centered Design (UCD) group provides free services to staff to help them create usable products.

Services we offer:

  • Join a team at the start and help throughout a project
  • Use selected UCD methods to provide user information and evaluate products
  • Coach staff who wish to do their own UCD work
  • Give presentations about UCD and usability testing
  • Provide a tour of the usability lab in Mary Gates Hall
  • Assist with user interface or information design
