MEN’S HEALTH CAMPAIGN COUNCIL

Men’s Health fundraising and outreach for UW Medicine is lead by the Men’s Health Campaign Council (MHCC) in conjunction with Accelerate Men’s Health. The MHCC is a governing body that aims to make a positive impact on the health of men in the Seattle area and beyond.

Mission & Vision

  • Understand, through research, the gap and how to narrow it
  • Reach men and get them plugged in
  • Find the best and brightest to work on these priorities

The campaign council provides opportunities to support the men’s health community outreach mission/vision to improve the quality and longevity of men’s lives, and its related philanthropic endeavors.

REACHING OUT TO MEN

In our communities, men don’t use healthcare resources as much as they should — and we want to change that. Many urological disorders can be treated with awareness and screening. In fact, common urologic problems provide an excellent starting point to encourage men to take greater responsibility for their health; their condition serves as motivation.

With outreach to employers, schools and social gathering places, we aim to help men manage their healthcare. We’ll also target policymakers with the goal of improving the health of entire male populations. With this multi-pronged approach, one that educates adolescents and adults, we intend to shift the paradigms of men’s
healthcare delivery.

At UW Medicine’s Department of Urology, we want to broaden and refine the concept of men’s health. We seek to understand why men have shorter lives. We aim to encourage men to take charge of their health. We’re doing all these things through the Men’s Health Center. And we invite you to join us in this important work.

MEN’S HEALTH CENTER

Located in Seattle’s University District, the Men’s Health Center at Roosevelt Clinic is a point of entry for excellent healthcare in:

  • Cancer screening
  • Testicular, bladder and prostate cancer prevention and treatment
  • Male reproductive health
  • Genitourinary reconstruction
  • Kidney stones
  • Chronic pain
