•Adrian Raftery, Mark Handcock, Ross Matsueda
•3 faculty members hired: Mark Handcock, Peter Hoff, Kevin Quinn; plus Martina Morris hired as core CSSS faculty
•New office suite remodeled and occupied in Padelford Hall
•A vibrant seminar series established. About 80 seminars have been given, with a highly interdisciplinary audience averaging about 35.
•Seed grant program: 13 grants awarded. 4 have already led to funded grants, which other proposals pending (highly significant in the social sciences)
•Over $5 million in external research grants awarded
•An active interdisciplinary working paper series established, with thousands of downloads recorded on the Web.
•Intellectual themes: Social networks, Causal inference, Inference for deterministic models, Spatial statistics in social science
