Leading a 21st century UW undergraduate experience.
Led by Vice Provost and Dean Ed Taylor, Undergraduate Academic Affairs is the only department on campus whose sole focus is to steward the undergraduate academic experience.
This work requires meaningful, intentional collaborations with faculty, departments, and colleagues across campus and into the community. We lead by showcasing what’s possible in undergraduate education, supporting efforts to evaluate and improve teaching, and developing the systemic foundations for connecting undergraduates to the fullness of the University’s academic mission and spirit of discovery.
By doing this well and within a common set of values, students graduate with a sense of purpose, an understanding of the contributions they are poised to make, and their own ideas of what it means to be a global citizen in the 21st century.
It begins with a common purpose and momentum toward the future. UAA’s history and future is one of innovation, collaboration, and the ideal of ensuring undergraduates are at the center of the University of Washington’s mission.
