Take the course during Winter Quarter, if it is being taught by Joel Migdal. He is one of the best teachers I have had. Also, the course will go over aspects of the past 100 years and give an overall world history of why the world has become the way it is. You will learn what reasons went into the creation of the UN, IMF, WTO. At the same time, you will choose a region and research it. You will learn how to make an educated assumption about a situation, then find if you are correct.

Prof. Weis is very interesting and so is the class. You get to listen and watch Ted Bundy and Gary Ridgeway's confession tapes. You get to profile a killer and you just learn so many important things about murderers and how to protect yourself. There is also a real homicide investigator that comes to class about 4 times to speak about his own experiences. Excellent class.

It is interesting and you watch movies that are really moving. We talked about issues in class that are hot topics as well as issues that are hard to talk about, like slavery. We also got to talk about minority groups from Asians to native Americans which was interesting and enlightening. I really recommend this class with Jean Y (instructor).
