Our Services: You Don't Have to Do it Alone
The University of Washington has pre-health advisers who help enrolled students prepare for undergraduate or graduate health care programs. We will work with you to plan your academic coursework, discuss your health care experiences, and assist with the application process. There's no "right" way to prepare for these programs; working with an adviser can help you to individualize the pre-health information in this web site to your situation.
How do I meet with an adviser?
Information SessionsPre-medical and pre-dental students must attend an information session before meeting with an academic adviser. This will help you to ask well-informed questions during your advising appointment. Information session times and locations can be found here. |
AppointmentsIf you are a currently-enrolled student or a graduate of the University of Washington, you can make a 30-minute appointment with a pre-health adviser in the Gateway Center by calling 206-543-2550. You can also come to Mary Gates Hall 171 to set up an appointment. If you are a participant in the Educational Opportunities Program (EOP), you can make an appointment with an EOP pre-health counselor by calling 206-543-7142 or by stopping by the front desk in 373 Schmitz Hall. Come prepared! Your advising appointment will be much more effective if you have written down the questions you would like to discuss. |
Quick QuestionsPre-health advisers are also available during Quick Question hours on a limited basis. If you have in-depth questions that may require a session longer than 10 minutes, please schedule an appointment. During Quick Question hours, pre-health advisers also see non-pre-health students, and sessions are only available on a first-come, first-serve basis. In the Gateway Center, Quick Question hours are held Monday–Friday from 10am–4pm. In the EOP Academic Advising and Counseling Center counselors are available Monday through Friday, beginning at 8:30am. |
What if I am not a UW student?
Due to the volume of currently-enrolled students served, we are unable to meet with non-UW Seattle students. Please see our web pages designed especially for:
