Clay Schwenn
Academic Counselor-Lead

When I'm not traveling the world in search of great gelato, refining my knowledge of upbeat 80s music, throwing myself at cardio machines in the IMA, or serving as the voice of Mukilteo's Kamiak Knights, I can be found in the corner office near the fountain at the Gateway Center. Having spent 21 years at the University of Washington, I generally view it as my hometown, although if you mention that fact to Cheney (my actual hometown), it gets a little jealous and then says catty things about UW. I like Pop Tarts, chocolate, authentic Napolitana pizza, comfortable jeans, orangutans, Husky Crew, Siena Italy, Ricky Gervais, "Blocked Out", Dante's Inferno, the give-and-go, Dean Martin, Crate and Barrel, B.F. Skinner, Icebreakers, making my wife laugh, watching people sing in their car, Pink Man, the smell of new asphalt, eusocial insects, the Black Hills, gravy, and Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus". But mostly, I just like helping students get the most out of their academic career at UW. That's what gets me out of bed in the morning. You can find me on Facebook, call me at (206)543-4871, or drop me a line at cschwenn@u.washington.edu.
