Exploring

Exploring academic interests inside and beyond the classroom.

UW undergraduates find multiple opportunities that encourage and facilitate their intellectual exploration and discovery. UAA programs foster academic inquiry, deepening students’ knowledge by helping them extend learning beyond the classroom.

These opportunities bring students into the University’s research labs, Seattle’s broader community, and to international settings. Exploring the unscripted problems encountered in these arenas animates students’ classroom foundations, expanding students’ understanding of the subjects and issues they learn about in class as well as who they are and how they want to contribute to our world.

Undergraduate Academic Affairs programs work together and in concert with programs across the UW so students find a collection of opportunities for intellectual exploration, generating knowledge alongside community leaders and world-renowned faculty.
