Excelling

Excelling at the University is unique to each undergraduate.

More than 25,000 undergraduates call the University of Washington their academic home. Each of these students came here with personal narratives and abilities that shape who they are and why they’re here.

Some are the first in their family to attend college; some come from a long Husky lineage. Students both transfer to the University from community college and enter the UW as freshmen. Undergraduates come to us from high schools that enroll fewer than 100 students to a few thousand. Some students are only a few miles from home, others a few hundred.

Our students’ diversity makes the University more vibrant and UAA’s work more relevant. UAA works to build a common framework so each individual student can find community, discover their talents, thrive academically, and realize their potential.

Our commitment to each of these 25,000+ students is to create and facilitate opportunities for them to realize excellence. The breadth of Undergraduate Academic Affairs programs recognize and support the intellectual needs of the University’s diverse range of students.
