Mission Statement

The Diversity Working Group supports Undergraduate Academic Affairs (UAA) through raising awareness of diversity issues and facilitating ongoing access to UAA resources and programs for all UAA constituents.

Special Events

Throughout the year the Diversity Working Group sponsors events designed to raise awareness of diversity issues throughout the university community.  Please check the Announcements section of the UAA home page.

Past Activities

The showing of Eyes on the Prize, a critically acclaimed documentary series dealing with the American Civil Rights Movement.

The installation of Identity, a permanent exhibit in the lobby of Kane Hall featuring nine artists of color. 

A reading by Dr. Charles Johnson from his new collection of short stories, Dr. King’s Refrigerator and Other Bedtime Stories, in the Mary Gates Hall Commons. 

Co-sponsorship of the premier screening of Chasing Daybreak, a film about mixed race in American intended to challenge the way we see race. This film was produced and directed by the MAVIN Foundation.
